PCness

I am sick and fucking tired of being PC, others being PC and the entire fucking PC movement. Political Correctness in itself is a contradiction in terms, because really, what in politics is fucking correct? I am through hearing "I don't want under god in our pledge" and "you can't play that song any more, it has racial undertones" and the next goddamn person that tries to limit my first fucking amendment rights, I am going to punch with a fistfull of spikes. I give the example of "carry me back to ol' virginny". This song used to be the state song of Virginia, and it is a beautiful piece. The lyrics talk of an old slave who wants to be buried back in Virginia WITH HIS MASTERS. You're really going to knock a song that takes the darkest hour of this country's history and actually talks about a man being treated right, so much so that he would wish to be buried with his "owners"? Goddammit people you can't just demand we never speak of it again, I say let it go and find something constructive to bitch about other than what people are saying. Or, even better, we work together and actually do some good in the world. Who fucking cares if I say "black" instead of "african american" or "white" instead of "caucasian" or I happen to get what particular asian country you're from wrong. FUCK YOU. You are in America, that makes you AMERICAN. Not African American, not Asian American, not Middle Eastern American, you are American, fucking plain and simple. I say instead of having our big happy hippy sit around and find the least offensive things to call people while we sip our soy lattes and participate in the friendship circle-jerk we actually get out and help our fellow Americans, nay, our fellow man. Let's actually feed the hungry, house the homeless, pick up those who are down and goddamn anyone who tries to slow our progress. Don't we have terrorists to catch? For now, go to your favorite bar, sit down, order a beer, and you know what, buy one for the guy next to you who looks a bit down on his luck. Time to let a little love in.

  1. I quite agree. I certainly don't want "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, but that's a particular nit to be discussed later.

Meanwhile, a victim of exactly what you're talking about...
